Repair questions answered

How much does PTAC repair cost?

Every job is different. Call us at (212) 686-0094 and we'll give you an honest quote before any work begins. No surprises.

Do you service units other brands installed?

Absolutely. We repair all brands: Ameristar, AAON, Airedale, Fedders, GE, Friedrich, Lennox, McQuay, and anything else. Doesn't matter who installed it originally.

How fast can you get here?

We offer same-day service calls during business hours. For units that need shop work, our in-house repair line guarantees a 2-3 day turnaround.

How long does a typical repair take?

Diagnosis takes 15-30 minutes. Simple repairs (filters, thermostat, electrical) take 30 minutes to 2 hours. Major repairs (compressor replacement, coil replacement) may take 3-4 hours or require a return visit. We'll let you know during diagnosis.

Do you offer warranties on repair work?

Yes. All labor carries a 1-year warranty. Replaced parts come with manufacturer's warranty (typically 1-10 years depending on the component). If something fails due to our installation, we'll fix it for free.

Is the Figlia team licensed and insured?

Yes. All our technicians are New York State licensed HVAC contractors. We carry a $5 million insurance policy, which satisfies the requirements of virtually every building in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the other boroughs. We'll provide proof of insurance before we start work.

Should I try to repair my PTAC myself?

Most HVAC repairs require specialized tools and EPA certification (especially if refrigerant is involved). DIY attempts often make the problem worse and more expensive. Filter changes are fine, but anything beyond that should be handled by a licensed technician.
